End of The Tunnel

End of The Tunnel

A Poem by Broken Shards
"

This poem is a take on the journey of every individual's life along with it's experiences and uncertainties.

"

Here I stand, somewhere in a tunnel two-way,

I know not how far I have come,

And I know not how long before the tunnel ends;

All I can see is darkness ahead of me,

And all I have is the faint memory of the path,

Already traversed, at times wounding, at times serene.

What is that unnerving noise?

It gets so frightening at times, that my will

To hold ground any further, is destroyed.

Sometimes I even fall, I get so scared;

I feel like running back to where I began,

And then I realize, do I even know where I started?

So should I stop here itself and perish listening,

To this gibberish noise, or should I get up,

And start walking again hoping to see the tunnel’s end?

And then I remember the magic orbs of wisdom,

That I have collected in my journey so far;

They whisper to me solemnly, “You dread the unknown.

With the loneliness, you are appalled,

Hold your spirit and move, you might find light incandescent,

Which you’ll definitely not find if here you settle stalled.”
