Confidence Tricks and High HorsesA Poem by AKProctorlyrics - spring 2014Don’t pretend that you’re not thinking about it, Destruction is your modus operandi. Don’t pretend that you’re not happy about it, You’ve had your eye on my white flag and I’ve seen. And you, you’re never happy with the bloodstains on your bed. And you, you’re never happy with the true things that I’ve said. You’re not crazy, you’re just amazingly devoid of the things that I used to praise in you. What happened to your sentiment? Don’t pretend you ever thought this was a good thing, you’ve always had your dear regrets. Don’t pretend that you’re not worthy of the shame, you drew that line across your own neck. And you, you’re never happy with the bloodstains on your bed. And you, you’re never happy with the true things that I’ve said. You’re not crazy, you’re just amazingly devoid of the things that I used to praise in you. What happened to your sentiment? And you, you’re never happy with that price that’s on your head. And you, you’re never happy when you win, it’s all a bet. And I, I never took you for a sucker, just for a friend. But I guess, it never happens how you want it, just how it is. But you’re not crazy, you’re just amazingly devoid of the things that I used to praise in you. What happened to your sentiment? What happened to your sentiment? © 2014 AKProctor |
