Learning to Run

Learning to Run

"

She said, “I’m learning to run

from everything that’s kept me here

all these long years, because I

don’t see the point in standing still.

From broken hearts to broken homes,

the meaningless is all I know.

So, I will follow my two feet wherever they go.”

Direction is only relative,

mark it off your list and get going.

Search yourself to find holes in your peace of mind,

fill them with the light that is knowing

When to run, when to fight,

When to give into desire,

When to flee, when to bleed

and when to breathe.

He said, “I’m learning to crawl

on my hands and knees,

I have lost everything - and it’s beautiful,

the blood that is soaking my sleeve.

The thrill of pain and the will to gain

that which I had lacked, it will keep me sane.

But when will I stand again?”

Direction is only relative,

mark it off your list and get going.

Search yourself to find holes in your peace of mind,

fill them with the light that is knowing

When to run, when to fight,

When to give into desire,

When to flee, when to bleed

and when to breathe.

And when you start,

follow your heart

in all it’s shattered pieces.

Find the road

that takes you home,

or wherever it may lead; It’s

where you’re meant to be -

Now you are finally free.

Direction is only relative,

mark it off your list and get going.

Search yourself to find holes in your peace of mind,

fill them with the light that is knowing

When to run, when to fight,

When to give in to desire,

When to flee, when to bleed

and when to breathe.

You are where you are meant to be.

You are where you are meant to be.

You are where you are meant to be…
