Rejection

Rejection

A Poem by Akleja

Twisted words.
Thoughts in a slur.
You said no but I think you really meant yes.
You left me nonetheless.
Your eyes were filled with affection,
your blue eyes were glimmering with perfection,
while your words made me feel rejected.
You left me all alone, unprotected.

These words cut like a knife...end of a relationship, lies and despair. All in a neat little package on your page, it's never easy. Well said.

I really like this! It portrays one of the worst scenarios... Being left alone by the one you love the most...

'You said no but I think you really meant yes' works to fire images up really well. Did the person who left need to leave for some particular reason? We'll never know, and that's how it should be. I like the fact you leave us guessing.

Could you explain why he left you despite a soft corner for you in his heart?
Was he forced to do such act or did he do that intentionally?
However, your words vividly depicted the situation.
I felt very sad that he behaved in such a weird manner.
Thanks for sharing.

we just want to believe so badly, so badly....that the other really does love us...

and we go on believing sometimes long after the person is gone, long gone.

and it really twists the heart as well as the words.
