You're Never in This Alone

You're Never in This Alone

A Poem by AK
"

An old piece I found while cleaning up the hard drive of my other computer...

"

Work and school and cares of life
trials at every turn
Some days just seem to get too hard
to apply the things you've learned
And you feel there's no point in trying
you want to give up, go home
It's then you'll hear Him whisper
"Child, you're never in this alone".

In prayer, you know what matters
the altar makes things so clear
But church, too soon, is over
and God doesn't feel as near
But He's given you a calling
believe the vision that He's shown
The gifts you need are in you
and you're never in this alone.

There are others who stand beside you
although you may not see them there
Strong shields, though scarred, won't fail
each held in place through prayer
So join your hand unto the battle
soon we'll meet before the throne
You my friend make a difference
and you're never in this alone!

I have to hurry so I can leave for work but I just had to say something first. So many times it seems that things are timed just so-so in order to bring our attention where it needs to be. Have you ever noticed that? I sure have.

I've been away lately. I didn't start out intending to be away for as long as I have been but as I looked deeper and gave more of myself to Him, your right at times it does seem easier to give up but I can't and won't. Every day seems to hold some kind of a lesson for me and today's lesson has been one of remembering to view distractions as exactly what they are, distractions. Today I've felt so very blessed to feel so much closer to Him and I never want it to end. Sorry for the tangent but your right on target with this piece. Thank you again.

A very inspirational piece... certainly a good time for me to read it as a reminder.

A succinct expression of your philosophy. I like the structure and the rhyme.

wow. I'm going through this now....things I used to place stock in leave me 'wrankled' and I know it is because I need to turn my attention 'upwards'
This is a wonderful affirmation - very lyrical...and filled with gentle truth. Thank you for the reminder.

I don't think a coincidence at all. A very timely piece, and uplifting. One I pass on to a friend and pray they hear my heart in it as they read the words you've written.
Thanks so much for sharing this.

As an addendum...just had to say, if you "just happened" to pull this one off of your hard drive...and was an old piece...shazam! God has gifted you unmercifully! You are blessed...

AK, this is superb. I would have to say this is right up there with Helen Steiner Rice's menagerie, and there is another writer that does greeting cards...I want to say Amanda Bradley or something to that effect. I have a book by Rice though and this is easily comparable...You are amazingly talented! Thank you for gracing my day with this beauty, and btw...thank you for reviewing my little ditty for the day...."Unquenchable Light!"
