Listen Again

Listen Again

A Poem by AK
"

Sometimes it's almost unbearable...

"

Seven more young innocents wasted this week,

seven more who made the simple mistake of living their lives.

I struggle with these mindless acts of desperation

trying to make some sense of it...

but there is none to be made.

This isn't new, this madness. It has been with us since time began.

What is new is the frequency that this absolute evil is visited upon us.

It is so clear to those who have been watching for this.

It's just one of the subtle yet recognizable signals

that must not be ignored.

We all feel it.

We can't help but know that "something" is happening,

something far beyond our control.

But not beyond our escape.

There is a way out.

Far easier than many of us imagine.

Please consider... please open your heart... please let down your guard for a moment.

Step into the quietness of solitude...

close your door and put on some gentle music,

spend a few minutes with your heart

and your soul.

What questions do they ask?

Listen...

they truly need your help to find the answers.

Do you feel that gentle touch?

Can you hear the whisper of your name?

Listen again...

There is so much more for you...

I always find myself coming back to the same words. . . it's quieter today. I think I heard more.

This can help us to find the answers and listen to the unspoken words.Innocent lives smoke up and explode because their cries of silent anguish go unheard. Is there any specific incident or concern that prompted this ? It can relate to the general sense of waste of young minds and lives being wasted.

I remember reading this, not sure why I didn't leave any remarks. Sometimes I think I do and for whatever reason the don't always stick the first time which is so frustrating to me.

Do you feel that gentle touch?
Can you hear the whisper of your name?
Listen again...
There is so much for you to hear.... Yes. Yes, I do. I'm trying so hard to listen ...

This was absolutely lovely, Without pushing your own religious beliefs yet nudging the reader to find the answers for themselves, pleading with the world to listen to the caring voice, feeling the "gentle touch" of love, and stop the madness around us. You would think that the chaos around would be enough of a wake up call to most. You have such an eloquent and inspirational voice in this: A Wonderful, Sweet, and Beautiful write.

This is such a beautiful piece. I love the gentle urge at the end to listen. There really is so much for us to hear when we do take those quiet moments to be peaceful and to listen to what's around us.
