Our Whispered PledgeA Poem by AKWe grow through the valleys...
Our babies are sick and hurting
Our seniors are growing frail
The saints we’ve learned and served with
Are battered by tempest’s gale
We hear the urgent battle call
To fastings and to prayer
The works you promised in your Word
And “more” this church will share
The altar flows with heavy burden
Our portion ready now to take
Each time in one accord we kneel
We’re strengthened - we shall not break
This body, though small, determined
The gifts are ours to use
The Bride, alive and faithful
Unbelief each saint eschews
The time is soon upon us
All feel necessity
To cast off that which hinders
The Holy Ghost has set us free
“The works I did, you shall too”
Those words burn within our souls
The healings Lord, and miracles…
Oh, let your glory show
And that prayer, not offered lightly
Comes with years of trial
We’re nearer You, we know that
You’ve led each narrow mile
From young disciples in that dark valley
Now to dispensations’ edge
The Bride, alive and faithful
“We believe”, our whispered pledge!
