Since WhenA Poem by AKFor a good friend who refused to quit.
Since when do we stop praying
before the answer is received?
And in the raging battle
since when do God’s saints flee?
When others count upon us
to fight when they cannot
Shall we toss down sword and shield?
No, the Bride will not!
We’ll not go back again
to regain hard-won ground
We’ll stand if we can’t climb
until the strength we’ve found
We’ll hold each other up
and carry those who fall
And if perchance we’re wounded
Then, by God, we’ll crawl
So shall we take our ease
because our schedule is too full?
Or can we “just this once”
get someone else our weight to pull?
Well maybe just this once…
and then our battle’s lost!
Since when do we stop praying?
The answer… We do not!
