Hello Little Isabelle

Written for my first grandchild on the day she was born. She has changed me in ways I never imagined.

 

Hello little Isabelle, and welcome to your life.

each day we’ve waited has seemed so long,

but you’re here now. Mom’s okay and you’re all right.

We’ve planned for months for you to come,

fixed up your room real nice.

We’ve shopped and shopped for toys and stuff,

between us all, we’ve bought most things twice.

You’re the first in many ways for us,

the first for Mom and Dad.

The first grandchild for Nonnie and me,

and for Great Grandma and Great Granddad.

We know God sent you, we’re so glad He did,

for us to raise and love.

And we’ll give you all the best we can,

till Jesus calls us home, above.

Now I know you’re pretty tired,

cause you’ve had a really big day.

So go back to sleep sweet baby girl,

your family’s here to stay!
