It Don't Matter

It Don't Matter

A Poem by AK
"

This is a song in the old southern gospel tradition. It begins with a solo voice singing the chorus nice and slow and soulful... and then the verses cut lose in that foot stompin' hand clappin' style that gets you right up out of your seat!

"

chorus
Lord, it don’t matter
I said it just don’t matter
What the Sun brings along
when it rises again
Nothin’s gonna come
between you and me
Because I’ve started to finish
my run

 vs.1
Jesus when I started
this trip not long ago
You said the path was marked well
by those who’ve gone before
All the miles I’ve been travelin’
you’ve been there just ahead
And even the hardest
was the best I’ve ever had

 vs. 2
The promises you’ve made Lord
and the work that lies ahead
I’ll do my part in each of them
the old man inside is dead
Keep moldin’ Lord and makin’
closer every day
That fire in me is stirred up again
I’m stirred up now to stay
