Punctuation

Nuff said...

 

Punctuation is my challenge

So I choose to go without

Unless I want to make a point

Or eliminate any doubt

 

In cases such I’ll try my hand

And risk an apostrophe

Maybe a comma or a colon

Where I guess it ought to be

 

Quite often I suppose I get it right

At least no one else complains

Perhaps they think me artistic

But in truth I lack the brains

 

It’s not that I’m so lazy

That I just don’t want to try

But the words are what I like the most

I’m just that kind of guy

 

So please forgive me if you will

And I’ll do my level best

To put those little marks somewhere

And give my soul some rest

This is something I can really relate to as I think most writers can. The fact that you're caught in the immediate moment and its writing, 'But the words are what I like the most' the thoughts, feelings, emotions; the sound and music that are driving you on, not the full stops and commas. I once met someone who said, seriously, James Joyce didn't know how to use a fullstop.
