In My Mind

 

So many times I’ve sat with you

and told you how I feel

In my mind we’ve talked for hours

alone, just me and you

We’ve shared our dreams and hopes in God

explored the visions that He’s shown

Sought out the deep and hidden things

planned what we’ll do when we’re finally ‘home’

 

In my mind I’ve helped to hold you up

fighting each battle we’ve gone before

The things I’ve longed to do for Him

your smile has confirmed, and more

I want to be always at your side

to guard you safe from harm

Make sure you don’t get hurt again

and protect you from life’s storms

 

In my mind you know what you mean to me

when I look into your eyes

I see the years you’ve cared and prayed

together we’ve laughed and cried

But today in my mind isn’t good enough

I need you to know that I’ll stand true

Those hopes and dreams, and visions shared…

only the beginning of what we’ll do.

Beyond beyond, D. Extraordinary heart thoughts and sensitivity to her. I can feel the comfort between these two, the years of growing together ~ probably completing each other's sentences ... and more. This union is so blessed, and I'm sure she knows. But oh, to hear the words ~ I believe we all need that. This is just such a loving and rare tribute. Luck you. And lucky her. ;-)
