Have You Touched His Robe
A Poem by AK
I'll never forget the night I wrote this song many years ago...
vs 1
Your faith, dear child, has made you whole
you chose the better way
You touched my hem as I passed by
sweet virtue flowed today
I heard your whispered plea for help
above the pressing crowd
I came this way in search of you
we’ll walk together now
Chorus
Have you touched the robe that covered Him
and kept Him from the cold
Have you felt the cloth, by now so worn
the years have made it old
Still just in reach for those who will
lift up a trembling hand
He’s here to heal, He’s come for you
your broken life to mend
vs 2
The way back home my word has shown
all those who want to know
My path is strait, don’t hesitate
it’s almost time to go
Wander in the dark no more
step out into the light
Take my hand, we’ll walk my friend
the gates are just in sight

this is a wonderful story and it's presented in a wonderful way. the words are clear. the story is told plainly and the story itself is what carries the weight of the poem/song/hymn. i'd love to hear the story behind the poem.
