The Words Sometimes Don't MatterA Poem by AKThere are times when just the Spirit is enough...
When God tarries at the altar and your soul is not your own
You’ve prayed all you know to pray and no other words will come Then the Spirit within you utters phrases not taught nor learned The words don’t really matter because you know your God has heard Other times in sweet communion at the throne, just God and you His spirit touches deep within and there’s nothing you can’t do
All the works that He has planned at last you clearly see It’s then the words don’t matter and you know just what you’ll be. And later while kneeling at someone’s side who’s burdened with great need Whether trial or situation has brought them there to seek The faithful saint who prays with them
could help change the life they’ve known Your words may never matter… but now two are nearer home. So “I didn’t know what to say” cannot, for us, apply It’s the spirit that makes the difference and the willingness to try Alone with Him in Glory or at another’s side The words sometimes don’t matter when the Holy Ghost provides. © 2008 AKReviews
