Cursed empathy

Cursed empathy

A Poem by Akash gaikwad
"

Flowing thoughts of cursed empathy

"
Ma said, "Don't go near them they will kill you".
I tore a page from a book, wrote a message and made paper boat of it to send it across the river.
I went near them and they became friends.
Who was she afraid of?
I went near strangers in strange ways they abused me but I still saw human in them.
I went near monsters, evils and demons.
I Opened their brain and they opened mine.
I learnt that the first word I learnt was Ma!

(: no problem
Understanding your abusers is a hard thing, forgiving them is even harder. The fact that you can still see the good in human beings is a rare gift, and i admire that. Mothers always try to protect their children as long as they can. It's up to us to follow our own path though. Very nice write !

You’re very welcome my friend.
This is true grit, raw and the utter real hell for some people in life. When the monster does turn out to be their own family member, like you just said, so eloquently. Many a life has been shattered by such people. Who, said they loved them. So close at hand. So easy to hide behind closed doors. Locked away from the eyes of everyday life outside.

Thank you for reading and appreciating it!!!
Sometimes the true demons of this world are not those who feed us knowledge, but in fact the people who were once strangers. I've read this many times and continue to relate to it, even if the message wasn't what I interpreted it to be.

I think your ma has more experience and knew better. There's an old saying. A leopard never changes its spots. A knave is a knave.

What do you exactly want to say? I didn't got you?
A very interesting look at the origins of human tribalism here. The speaker tells us his mother told him to avoid certain people because they would kill him. The speaker defied her by communicating with them and then interacting with them. The downside is that they abused him, but he still holds his actions valuable because he was able to see the good in them. Both his mind and theirs were inspired by the interaction. The last line is the key to the poem. Sometimes we need to go beyond comfort to get nearer to the truth. Very insightful work.

It's our uncontrolled soul that keeps refreshing the word Ma!
Any fear pops up...you can't keep mum...even if you can...but still your heart will beat faster as if calling the word constantly....
