How to give feedback

I have observed that a lot of people start to give feedback with out appreciating the writer. Also the format I have given makes you feel good when you read the feedback.

How to give a feedback!!
First step read the story,poem and article till the end.

Second step think of what you have understood and see does it matches with the authors note or the short description given.

Third step reflect and analyze about it.

Fourth step start to write but with the feedback of what you like in it.

Fifth step share your thoughts around the main content.

Sixth step share your thought of what can be improvement in it.

Seventh step read your feedback and correct your error and comment it.

How to not suck at writing a story about giving feedback...

1. Don't include multiple, simple grammatical errors.

2. Edit what you post (see number one)

3. Make sure your reasons for things make sense and not just in a glad handing sort of way (see your step # 4 and pretty much every other step you preach on about without doing even the most basic, superficial editing job.)

4. Don't allow a random person's feelings to dictate how you feel about a piece of writing... if it sucks it sucks, so sorry about your feelings - try harder next time.


Those who cry over critical reviews simply because they are critical aren't writing for the right reasons to begin with.

If you're going to talk about "appreciating" writing and judging other's feedback you might wanna start holding yourself to a higher standard. How can someone respect your opinion if you can't even be bothered to express yourself without editing your own faults? (see your own step #7)

Hey you had some interesting thoughts which I might want to consider or i will think upon it.
I like that you had courage speak your opinion.
I think whatever you have wrote would have been better if you had asked yourself why I have written this ? And even once you have not mentioned that.
Now remember when something sucks tell them it sucks but you don't have to be harsh on them about it. Don't make the person feel low about it. I agree one should be able to take criticim but think of a person who had written poetry for first time and you didn't liked. If you comment about it in harsh way the poet may stop writing or the poet can take you criticism and write even better poetry. My experience about harsh criticism is that it affects one feelings or people don't consider it because they have not been appreciated for their effort. What's the point of criticism if it stops your learning? People here come from diverse background so make learning experience fun & inclusive for everyone.
Yeah incase my grammer suck let me tell you i have studied in public school in Mumbai India where education sucks and was worse then even you can think so whatever I write I use my best knowledge while writing.
I keep improving from people's suggestion. Thanks for reading and sharing your opinion.

It doesn't take courage to give an honest opinion. Unless the norm for you is lying.

I'm not here to glad hand, I don't care about your feelings. I only care about your writing as you present it in this very narrow context.

Your learning is secondary to me leaving honest feedback. If I put arbitrary goals like that ahead of a consistent disposition eventually I would degrade into convoluted bullshit. The end product of how I go about this should lead to improvement, objectively on your own if only to shut me the f**k up.

And I see you haven't fixed any of your written mistakes... well done, you're clearly here to improve your writing. (that was sarcasm)

When you share a feedback do not share with an expectations that I will be consider. It is possible that your feedback won't be relevant to the writer but It will will be relevant to you. Just be open to your thoughts about your feedback a writer might also criticized it. See if the criticism makes sense to you if it doesn't then you try make understand your point. But if the writer is in not position to learn stop wasting your energy and move on. I hope I was helpful.

The last one is totally I agree with, I need to proofread my given review as my typing goes mistyped with my thoughts sometimes...but it's not like am not agreeing to the other ones...actually I do...!
Now this is another wow read from you...I liked the thought....Before writing or commenting we must know the essentials...some may take it as a joke..But truly if said it matters!
