Sunshine

Sunshine

A Poem by akarusty
"

I'm actually a little proud of this one.

"

Sunshine

A sudden burst of light

Like curtains drawn wide

On an early summer's morning

You,

Pulsating an emanating

Aura of sunshine,

Scorching through my veins,

Beyond the cells surrounding

When I first met you,

Said ray of sunshine,

Your buzzing energy

And glowing entity

Melted my face,

Curling my lips to a favoured impression

And burning your image to glaze

Across my gazing eyes

For the wick you carry

And the flame protruding

Stagger me

To a state of brightened bliss,

So much so

That to merely see the candlelight flicker

Brings stone-cold tears to blackened eyes

And so it was decided

With no other will but mine

That to keep you, sunshine, shining

Would be my torch to carry,

To be there in close proximity

If ever your fires that make you - happy -

Would tempt in finding smoke to the wind.

Is that so wrong, sunshine?
