Sorcerers have staffs

To wave and cast spells

Writers hold words

And make magic on scrolls

 

Soldiers have guns

To take down a threat

Writers wield words

To find their target

 

Warriors have swords

To slice men in two!

Writers sheath words

To bind ideas too few

 

Bombers without bombs

Are just ‘ers’ literally

Writers without words

Meet tough misery

 

Artists are like writers:

The same bullet they bite

With their brushes bust

And their canvases white

 

With weapons in hand

We can show off our skill.

So find me a pen

And I’ll show you a kill.
