Teach

Teach

A Poem by A.K.A. Peteman

I align my tie one final time

Swallow, as the bells of hell chime

I make it to the desk

Drawers I open randomly

Lay low, they notice seldomly

I hit the flask

A little more for my paper cup

Some Coffee, just to fill it up

Planes sail overhead

Abstinence, ... absence I mean, of motivation

Gone, Flushed away by the sedation

As I think of my bed

Courage, still got half a pint

Coffee breath, a steady desk to hide behind

A book, just any from the shelf

My musty suit, and sweaty hands

The tack that penetrates my pants

I even fooled myself

An excellent write. I am a teacher and parts resonate with me.

This is AWESOME! There's a fantastic desperation/apathy dichotomy going on that is almost as intoxicating as the bottle mentioned. So empathic and intuitive. I really love pieces like this. KEEP IT UP!

Thanks for sharing.
