Woes of Women

Woes of Women

A Poem by Akansha
"

It depicts the life and ordeals of women especially indian women, because of some lascivious men

"
Everywhere lullabies hum,
Here i come!
With dad's love & care of mum,
Here i come!

Like the lighting of house i shine,
They worship me as if i were divine.
Dad's shoulders were the best seat,
Holding his fingers i stood on my feet.

Then they took me all the way to school,
Down my cheeks the tears rolled.
They taught me the values & taught me the rules,
I got my first friends, some shy some droll.

As i grew,childhood dispersed,
And so did the innocence.
Mom said being a girl is a curse,
As the men have no benevolence.

"The perverts will leer you my child"she said
"Strong you are,so no need to dread".
Don't grow peevish when dad is over-protective,
Afterall for him you are a sweet little princess.

Now as i step out,my battle begins,
With the devils disguised as men.
The day ends and i pat myself again,
I survived one more day being a woman.

Thanks for the insight into men. Its obviously harder to appreciate what you go through from this side... but the glimpse helps.
