Willow

Willow

A Poem by aisling virginia

I sit beneath the willow
near the river.
I wish you were next to me,
but you're gone.
Aren't you?
Or was I just imagining
that painful goodbye,
those silent tears,
the sleepless nights?
No, I'm not imagining that anymore than I'm imagining
the willow I'm sitting under,
the flowers dancing in the wind,
the river lapping at the shore
the love you showed me.
But now you and your love are gone.
