My Pen

My Pen

A Poem by Anjana
"

I couldn't find my pen at the office one day and spent hours searching for it. I finally found it hidden under a notepad. I've tried writing about the search from the pen's perspective.

"
She lay hidden, waiting to be found
She knew that the one would come

Hardness surrounded her fluid nature
Like thought is given form when put to paper

Then there was light, the time had come
Fluid in nature and thought, the pen and the one

This is lovely! I really like the recurrence of fluid and hardness, I wonder if there's a way to bring this into the first bit as well. Probably not with the same words, but conceptually? Although the idea of waiting for the one and being found ties the beginning and end together nicely as well so it isn't really needed. I also feel like there's a rhyme in each of the later stanzas, but "found" and "come" don't match so well, maybe a closer rhyme could be found there?
