That Cat

We see so many poems about cats!

I see her kitten again.
Is he trying, or is he dying?
Is it feline immunodeficiency?

Why doesn’t she fall back in love
with that husband?
What when that kitten is dead?

Folk with cats can be so funny.
My friend is like that: very fond of cats.
He has immunodeficiency. The cat, not the man.

Will she fall back in love
with that husband of hers,
once her dying kitten dies?
