Whack and Wallop

Whack and Wallop

A Poem by Andrew John

Wham! That music is dainty.

But the bass drum gives it a kick.

Such tympanic contrast.

A tasteful tune with a rap,

such a whack, such a wallop.

Memory can tease, torture,

create that tasteful tune

while dredging up a thought

of something better not called back,

to avoid such a whack, such a wallop.

Wham, that first word and George Michael flashed up in my mind. Music though does have a habit of sending you on travels. Some are delightful, but some are definitely a turn off.

you left me, just when you needed me most. When that plays. I do a runner.

Whacks and wallops not a pleasant reminder. Have a good Thursday Andrew.
