Have You Gone? Have I Gone?

Have You Gone? Have I Gone?

A Poem by Andrew John

I get a tiny text from you.
I do remember emails.
Before those, phone conversations.
And prior to those we'd meet.
Sit for hours with coffee, tea, wine, chat.

Chats appeared to go on and on and on.

Remember those times,
the chat, wine, tea, coffee?
Then the phone calls we shared?
And then some emails,
before the occasional text?

Texts may not go on.

I sense a widening gulf in this relationship. When the texts go, finis.

Nicely put, John the B. Thanks.
This appears to be a relationship in a stage of neglect. When the texts disappear, it’s finished. Sadly so much more was enjoyed earlier. I’m sure many readers will find these words relatable. A universal theme.

A reminder that nothing lasts forever.

Many thanks, Chris. (Been away for a week, nearly! Hence late response.)
