Tree Gone

Freeverse

They took that tree away

from The Parade. So well

it stood, looked good. But now

the local council's said

another one will take

its place - a tiny thing.

So how long will it be

before it's risen to

the size of what was there

to meet its fate, and fall?

Was it too big, too tall?

I just hate it when local councils destroy trees. It makes me mad. And the replacement will probably take a century to reach a decent size. What tree was it Andrew? Well penned my friend.

It is like humans being cut down in the prime of life...just as they are succeeding, being respected...
then they are taken from us too soon, and the process starts all over again...as we watch
the new infant grow.
