My Door

My Door

A Poem by Andrew John

The strangest one I have ever seen,
fits well between two sections of a wall.
Yes, it is a door I speak of -
but what does it hide?

Have I ever seen the other side of it
and perhaps who is there?
It is a voice that is fair at times
but abominable at others.

Is it my mother's, my father's,
my sister's, my brother's?
Am I mad or is this a dream,
or something on the other side of my mind?

Yes I think that could be envisioned, the doorway to thoughts and the mind whose keepers are those who have spoken in your life in significant ways and at important times of your life. This poem makes for thinking. Thanks for sharing. Frederick.

An open door or a closed door. What a difference that can make. Closed doors are such a rejection, while open doors so inviting. You can never be totally sure what you are going to get though. I know that.
