No Need to Go

No Need to Go

A Poem by Andrew John
"

Sonnet

"
I feel I'm half a different person now,
and cringe at what I said a year ago.
So did I really say all that, and row?
But surely not, not that, oh no, oh no.

Yet how can I not know that such a feeling
had caused a type of strangeness with another?
And was it such a deal that had me reeling
with friend or mum or dad or sister, brother?

But surely no, not that, but boundless leisure:
I stroke a cat, I c**k my hat, I chat.
I know this life can bring delightful pleasure:
a joyous mood that is an acrobat.

I'm feeling different, yes, but will not go.
No wish to leave you, no - oh no, oh no.

There are some that you can be better off without. They can have such a negative effect on your mind. They always seem to be the clingy ones that stick around, not inclined to let go.

I am feeling these exact words towards someone in my life....

just let me go, I have let you go...and what has been said cannot be retracted, on either side.
