Passing Out

Passing Out

A Poem by Andrew John

This injured head appears to pose some simple questions. Is this head what gave rise to the fall to the floor? Did the fall give rise to the pills? Did the pills give rise to the cure that gave rise to my thanks to the fall to the floor that sent me questioning?
A head asks questions of itself. (Nov 2021)

I really like the final line of this poem. It echoes the rest of the poem in that one question leads to another and another. The appearance of simplicity in the questions leads to a chain of causation and the sense of gratitude for what could easily be interpreted as a negative event. Gotta love the optimism.

What a conundrum for your poor injured head. If it aches, I suggest two paracetamol and half a tumbler of cold water and a lie down. That should help. Your poem made me smile this morning abd I thank you for that and hope your head gets better soon.
