Believing

Believing

A Poem by Aaron Jinks

Believing

Believing in yourself is a bold and daring move.

To say that you won’t let anything tear you down is an act of

rebellion in the world’s eyes.

Often times, it’s hard to remain steady in yourself in a war

between one and what feels like millions.

It can be done though, you can do it.

Because a messy mind can be sorted,

an illness of the spirit can be cured.

A heart torn in two can be stitched back together.

So let those against you say what they want to say, let them thrive.

Let them think that they’re tearing you apart,

when in reality, you’re rebuilding yourself.

And when they shoot their cannonballs of rage and fury at you,

Let your belief in who you are ricochet those cannon balls back,

Sinking them into the deep blue abyss.

Stand tall, stand strong.

Stand believing.
