Me, and You, and the Falling Leaves

Me, and You, and the Falling Leaves

A Poem by Aaron Jinks

These long strands of leaves dangling from this willow
Like the chestnut brown hair blowing across your eyes
They cover us, and break the rays of the dying Sun onto us
You lay your head down as I read Safe Haven, like every other week.
These are the best times
I notice your heavy eyes dropping as rub my hands through your hair
As I close the book, you wrap your arms around my neck and pull me down into your warm kisses.
