Moving On

Moving On

A Poem by A Jackson

Dreams of what could have been, memories of the past

I'd have followed you anywhere, you just needed to ask.

And now rain is a certainty, when it's cold and I'm alone

But don't think that's a sign that I want you to come home.

I'm not asking you to love me, it doesn't affect me either way

I'm moving on without you, getting stronger every day.

Apologies are needless, I'm not interested in your defence

You've lost me and I'm gone; in that there's no pretence.

I'll hold you in my mind, and come visit you in the night

I'll remember the good times but know my future is bright.

I hope that you're happy, that you don't feel any pain

Maybe one day we'll meet and it'll be good again.
