Autumn

Autumn

A Poem by A Jackson
"

Just a little something to cheer you all up at this gloomy time of year!

"

i am disease, i spread through the fields

like a cancer in the veins;

i search for something to demolish,

for someone else to take.

the birds have ceased to chirp,

the ducks have ceased to swim,

the sun has ceased to shine;

But the wind begins to blow.

people are scared to see me;

they fear and hide from my name,

they bury themselves in disguises,

oh no! it’s him again.

The leaves fall at my feet,

the flowers bow their heads in shame,

i make people cry and sweat in fear,

i am back. can’t you hear?

The birds have ceased to chirp,

the ducks have ceased to swim,

the sun has ceased to shine;

But the wind begins to blow.

You cannot defeat me,

you cannot hide,

i will always return to haunt you;

i am autumn."

Unusual take on that 'most beautiful' of seasons.

Not sure I've been cheered up, but it was an interesting read, and at least spring is beginning to be sprung.

Beccy.
