Reverence

Reverence

A Poem by Apollos
"

In your shame is when you need the most to proclaim.

"
I felt irreverent so I called The Reverend.
He told me I’m Heaven Sent.
That made sense so I implored that he tell me more...

Lace up those Jordan’s as we lift off the floor.
Crashed into that great cloud of witnesses to untangle sin’s cord.
Perseverance to the adherence that my course is not coarse and I have not been divorced from my Father’s hand planning how to handle the demands of The Great Divorce.

I retort
with remorse
how we ignore
fixing our eyes
on Jesus
who endured
the cross
with a cost.
I’m at a loss
but He’s the boss
making a montage of sin’s mirage.

Author & Perfecter of my faith,
if you displace it will only end in disgrace.
Look me in the face as you try to hide all the things that belittle His grace.
Scorn the shame and stand alongside His fame.
Carry The Name so you don’t grow weary and lose heart.

Don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline.
You’re a Citizen in the midst of  the rebuke.
Sonship makes punishment an accomplishment.
A resurrected monument of the abolishment of the continent of this World’s occupant.

The discipline is for our good.
It is to complete our personhood.
I realize it’s painful at the start so strengthen those feeble arms and weak knees.
Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed so let us yield to peace with all men and be holy.

This is a Sacred Matrimony and is not a mountain that can be touched and is burning with fire.
No darkness mixed with doom & gloom.
Out of the storm a trumpet blasts and creates a sonic boom.
Speaking out words that none of the people could consume.

Yet the Groom has brought us to Mount Zion,
to the Heavenly Jerusalem,
the City of the Living God.
Thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,
such symmetry,
amongst the Church of the Firstborn,
whose names are written in Heaven.

Don’t you question that you have come to God,
the Judge of all men,
to the spirits of righteous men MADE perfect,
to Jesus the Mediator of a New Covenant,
so don’t covet the blood of Able as Jesus was the only man willing & able to overcome our current fable.

Don’t you be another Pharaoh and refuse Him who speaks.
Avoid being amongst the forsaken.
The earth is not the only thing capable of quakin’ as the heavens have also been shaken.
The King is here so time to fear and worship Him acceptably with reverence & awe.
For our Yah is a Consuming Fire and every opponent of His will fall.
