Revenge

Revenge

A Poem by Apollos
"

Though he strikes my heel, I will crush his head.

"

The more I desire, the more of His fire.
The more that I reflect, the more He directs.
The more that I run, He puts on the cleats.
The more He leaves, the more I grieve.
Growing in trust, His will is a must.
When I’m deflated, His Breath gets me elevated.
The more that I die...the more I’m alive!

An eye for an eye only leaves you blind.
Sublime rewinding of past crimes is the chiming of a wounded heart.
Don’t play a part in a vicious cycle that forgot where it all started.
Adam counted himself as one of The Departed.

Fig leaves couldn’t cover up that broken spark.
Eve thought she had gotten smart.
Knowledge divorced from love snakes men into thinkin’ they are tough.
Then they cuff themselves to their latest bluff.
I’ve had enough thinking we have to act so rough.
Bringing up past wrongs like its the right stuff.

Redemption is in His Name.
All other things are profane as I refrain from diminishing what He gave.
From His grave I proclaim His marvelous grace.
I am now in His place.
Comforter & Counselor helps me run this race.
My Father sets the pace.
Anointed for the chase.
