The Black Rose

The Black Rose

A Poem by Amanda Ives
"

"

I am a special messenger

Who carries the feelings quite bitter

From adversary to adversary across many terrains.

I care not the weather, be it sun, wind, hail, or rain.

Because of me, men have screamed in fear

Or stood petrified by the foreshadowment of their graves.

For that is what I have chosen to carry:

Warnings of decimation, sent by my master to his quarry.

I am beautiful in my own way

Even if all I carry is death to people day by day.

I must say honestly I have no choice in my job,

But I somewhat enjoy it and do it anyway.

So if ever you should be presented with me

Remember that I’m not meant to be taken lightly

Messages of death and destruction I foretell

And now I, the Black Rose, say farewell.

Great Piece. You put some thought into it and executed it well. It was a great read, and I do think it gives me an idea for me to work on later. Great Job

With Love,

Jaidyn
