If you were to go

If you were to go

A Poem by matpat

If you were to go, what would you tell your loved ones?

What would you want your loved ones to know for the rest of their lives?

Would you tell them how you loved them?

Would you tell them to perfect themselves?

Would you tell them to love everyone and be nice to their greatest extent?

Would you tell them to keep dreaming?

Would you tell them that you will see them in Heaven?

Would you simply hold them in your arms?

What would you tell them?

I love the way your mind works. You think of things to write that reflect true caring about humanity. I love your messages in all your pieces, becuz the caring shows very sincerely & touches the heart. I'm sorry to be a broken record on this point, but sometimes you're reaching for the familiar, well-worn phrase, when I urge you to try to find a new way of saying each phrase in every poem you write. Even tho all your ideas are excellent & spot-on, here are a few more specific thoughts, to show you what I mean. Would you tell your loved ones you were sorry for the times you couldn't be there? Would you tell them you'll be saving the wine & honey up in heaven, awaiting their smiling faces? Just some ideas for the next time you're writing . . .
