Unexpected Catch..by MichaelA Story by Michael Reisman
Melanie exited the subway car half asleep from the early morning ride to work. She barely stepped off onto the platform when suddenly the doors behind her closed shut. The bottom of her long winter coat got stuck in the doors as the train began to pull away. She was dragged about fifteen feet before an alert passenger saw this outside the window and pulled the emergency cord. The doors reopened as she was set free before hitting a platform pillar. That same passenger rushed to her aid and helped her back onto her feet. "Should I call an ambulance"? he asked her. "No she replied, I'm just shaken up a bit". They both called work that morning and explained to their boss what had just happened. The rest of the day was given off by understanding superiors. Melanie and Michael decided to exit the subway since they were already there and spend the rest of the day together. A not so common everyday event of this lifesaving circumstance turned into a romantic adventure. Long winter coats eventually become summer attire as the couple wore a tuxedo and a wedding gown. Maybe love starts with an unexpected catch of a long winter coat in a subway car. It ends up with the catch of a lifetime for two people who were destined to meet on the way to work....
