Bed Of Dreams..by Michael

Bed Of Dreams..by Michael

A Poem by Michael Reisman

She brushes her hair in the reflection of a moonlit lake.

A paddle gently rubs the water as the canoe

Slowly reaches the shore. Her cabin awaits with a night light

On the front porch to guide the way as she yawns herself

Into a bed of dreams. He combs his hair in the reflection of a lake

Now glowing with sunrise. He yawns himself into his bed of dreams.

A canoe is shared by two strangers some nights later who met

A little while ago. Thoughts of a meeting were shared by both

In a bed of dreams. One cabin has no porch light

As the other one does. Occupancy now shared in one place.

Vacations end as something else has a new beginning.

She brushes her hair in the bathroom mirror

As he combs his from right behind her.

A new husband and wife yawn together and then go

To the same bed of dreams...

I loved the language you used here. Especially the parts about brushing their hair... absolutely beautiful
