An Act Of Kindness..by MichaelA Poem by Michael Reisman
Holding a door for someone or pulling up their
chair,
An act of kindness. Helping the elderly cross the
street
Will bring the same smile to their face.
A stray cat or dog may be taken in as a pet,
For this is now their new life where they are
finally loved.
A helping hand well appreciated. With no special
occasion,
A flower is given just for the simple kindness of
the soul
Who presented it to her. A smile and a tear is
returned as a feeling of
Being loved is shared. When we put others before
ourselves,
Then that perhaps is the greatest gift to give.
In return
The rewards pay back a thousand fold. She held
the door
For him and pulled up his chair. The bride kissed
the groom as
Good deeds were returned. Three dogs and two
cats
Were now part of a family that had just begun to
live.
An old lady was invited to the wedding who made a
heartfelt speech.
"I crossed the street some years ago as this
young man
Helped me do so." Smiles and tears were mixed
Among the guests as they all began to
perform
In their own way, an act of
kindness... © 2015 Michael Reisman |
