Shining With Compassion..by Michael

Shining With Compassion..by Michael

A Poem by Michael Reisman

A kind word with a smile, a twinkle in the eye
Shining with compassion.
Ingredients to heal another's wounds.
Perhaps between friends, maybe between strangers.
The result is the same as
The receiver feels better than before.
Payback comes the same way it is sent.
Sheila holds up a fresh cup of coffee
To the stranger who first offered it to her
When she was down and out.
A morning walk through the park where he found her.
Her last coins were spent
On him with the return of thankfulness.
Richard took her in with a kind word and a smile.
Sheila made a payback
When she said yes to an engagement ring.
There was a twinkle in her eye
That was shining with compassion...
