Pier 19..by MichaelA Story by Michael ReismanKevin had realistic dreams which played out like a soap opera.
At least three times a week they would occur and would continue where the
previous one left off. It ended with a sign that read Pier 19 on a beach a few
miles from his house. He retraced every moment from what he remembered until his
car parked in a lot not that far from Pier 19. The last thing he thought of was
a scream he heard just before he woke up. Kevin laid down a blanket on the sand
close to the ocean as he did before in his dream. Would this dream of his
continue in real life? He shook it off as a trick of his imagination and just
enjoyed the rest of the day at a beach he had been to once before. A scream from
the waters just in front of him woke Kevin up. "Help me please", a voice cried
out from the crashing waves. Evelyn had a cramp in her leg and her hands waved
frantically above the waves. He ran and dove into the water and reached her just
in time. Kevin pulled her to the surface and managed to get Evelyn back on the
beach. Mouth to mouth resuscitation had her spit out the salt water from her
lungs. He rode with her in the ambulance to the hospital where she blacked out.
A warm hand held hers as she awoke and Kevin introduced himself. Evelyn smiled
and said "thank you for saving my life". He told her of his dreams as she
confided in him of the ones she had which were very similar to his. This soap
opera of sleepless nights finally ended with something that was to a warning of
things to come. A first beach party was held the following summer where a bride
and groom would be married on the sand before the waves. Mouth to mouth this
time was a very romantic kiss by Kevin and Evelyn. Things to come with wedding
album in bold capital letters,
Pier 19...
