She No Longer Chases Butterflies..by MichaelA Story by Michael ReismanLaura and her nine year old daughter spent a week at the same
summer resort that they had been going to over the years. She was a single
mother raising her daughter alone as her divorce was shortly after her daughter
was born. Mom dozed off on her lounge chair as Laura walked around the edge of
the outdoor pool. The lifeguard kept an eye on her as she seemed to be
unsupervised. A butterfly caught her attention as she ran around trying to catch
it. The nine year old lost track of where she was and fell into the deep end of
the pool. Laura didn't know how to swim. The lifeguard immediately dove in as
the rest of people there gasped and screamed at this unexpected event. This woke
Laura up as she then realized that it was her daughter who was in grave danger
of drowning. The lifeguard pulled her out of the pool just in time as a life was
saved. Larry introduced himself as she just hugged him and cried at the same
time. No ambulance was needed as her daughter was just fine but a little shaken
up at this unforeseen event. Larry had a nine year old son and was a single
father raising his son alone as his divorce was shortly after his son was born.
The daughter and son got along just fine as all four of them spent the rest of
the summer together for an extended stay. It was one year later that the kids
now had a mom and dad to raise them. His son taught her daughter swim how to
swim in the deep end of the pool. She no longer chases
butterflies....
