I Can-ish

I Can-ish

A Poem by aimless_wanderer

I can't go on fills my mind as I enter the twelfth hour of fourteen.
forty kilometers on a canoe treadmill drives me to insanity,
taunted by the obsessive loon who can leave at any moment.

Time slows like molasses running down a tube.
The day will never end, and the paddle will never stop.
whats worse is the fierce wind forcing against our mighty canoes.
slowing our rate of paddle the task becomes impossible.

Hundreds of eyes watch from the forest,
curious for the bipedal strangers who fight from one point to another.
The long road was rough,
but becoming tough makes me believe
I can.
