If I could touch you
I would memorize the map Your scars made Over years of imagined traveling I would feel your cheeks Apple-round and not sallow As they pretend to be I would breach the gap your lips make Dipping my finger in Your tongue tasting me I would card my fingers through your hair Soft, inviting me to spend hours Enveloped in your warmth But I cannot And must compensate with the betrayal Of a flat, disinterested computer screen © 2021 AchillesAuthor's Note
