Disaparaceido

Disaparaceido

A Poem by Aidan

You left,

taking the sun

and the sky with you

leaving the world veiled

in an ebony shroud.

Your absence dances

in the darkness,

wisps of emancipating smoke.

Like nicotine withdrawal

you haunt my lungs,

a terminal phantom

that refuses exorcism

and like a sinner judged,

I kneel at the altar

longing for your light

to return.
