Boddhisattva

Boddhisattva

A Poem by Aidan
"

The only way I know how to sort through my feelings is to write them out. So, this is for you; the one who left.

"
For you,
who wanders in
and out of eternity,
caught between the tides of
two shattered shores

I offer you a lotus lantern,
to help guide you safely on your way

You no longer have cause to fear,
             doubt, or falter.

The Light I give you
shall not go out; it will not lead you astray

Through tempest winds,
and torrent waters it shall
shine bright to keep the night at bay

The journey will still be both long, and painful

After all,
It did take Siddhārtha a full
forty-nine days under the Bohdi Tree
to reach enlightenment

How long will you wander,
before you find your answer?

I cannot say,
but I know that
someday,

You'll come home.

Aidan
As always, I would love to hear any thoughts, comments, or critique you might be willing to share. However, I wrote this mostly for myself and I didn't really intend to share it. I did change my mind after I finished it. Thanks for reading!
