Dinner For Two

Dinner For Two

A Poem by Angelica

A tender sirloin cooked to perfection,
a creamy Parmesan sauce and parsley to top it off
–thoughts of cooking dinner for you
bring smiles to my sulking face.

A dash of cinnamon adds to the secret
of my sweet apple pie that warms
you body to rosy cheeks.

Candles lit around warm plates,
two smooth bubbling glasses of champagne,
all ready atop a delicate red tablecloth.

All day of cooking with thoughts of you
leaved me exhausted in despair
finding you are not around
–Dinner for one is what it must be.
