Ice Forms Deep Inside, and Takes Over

Ice Forms Deep Inside, and Takes Over

A Poem by Angelica

A tear gently falls from eyes of innocence
In sync with the falling Autumn leaves,
And in this moment all is revealed in the mirror of tears.

Everything is hidden under the fake smile plastered upon her face,
And like one of Van Gogh’s beautiful paintings all people see is what lies
On the outside, but within is a story few have ever seen.

Looking through the tears, what’s reflected are pieces torn and a gash
Where the heart once stood like a puzzle with its pieces scattered and lost,
No one bothers with it, and soon it is discontinued and forgotten.

Now the sun that shined so bright bringing sweet bliss in a world so dark
Has finally set to but a dim glow as the once lush trees wither away
While her world is enveloped in ice, but all are too blind to see.

Shivering in the cold, she yearns for her prince to come fighting off the ice,
Bringing back the warmth of the sun as to put the puzzle back together,
Healing her recovered heart while she is united with the one she’s longed for all her life.
