An Influential Mind.

An Influential Mind.

A Poem by Angelica

Time passes slowly, ever so slowly
As I’m planted in a dreary room.
A hush sounds like an alarm silencing
The pandemonium that surrounds
As the tick tick tick of clock
Echoes in the background
Counting the time until our death.

Days go by and by, monotonous and arid,
As an incompetent teacher
Releases a wave of worthless information
Through a monotone voice
All while anvils hang from the lids
Of my bloodshot eyes.

Meaningless words infiltrate my ears,
But leave without a trace
Like a stalker in the night.
Itch twitch itch my body aches
For something fresh to entice me.

Crash! I’m hit like a bullet to chest.
A smile reaches my face
While beauty stands before me
Fetching the sun out of the clouds
As delectation enter my days.

Dust and cobwebs cleared away;
The rusted gears start churning again
As an astute mind captivates mine
Into a new world
Slowly opening my eyes.
